How to limit indexing to certain slots
As stated before, indexing an entire magazine can take a long time. The Resource Manager supports limiting indexing to certain slots. If you or the system administrator has replaced the disks in, let’s say, slots 5, 7 and 11, it makes sense to only index those slots to gather information on the new disks.
To index slots 5, 7 and 11, for example, select the desired magazine, select the menu item “select slots to index” from the task menu, and click to submit the command. The Resource Manager will display a column of checkboxes in front of the slots. In accordance to our example, you would check the boxes of slots 5, 7 and 11 to earmark them for indexing. Figure 17 illustrates this process.
