Indexing (rescanning) a virtual magazine
There are two ways on which an ISO image can get into a virtual magazine:
- The Resource Manager transfers a copy of an actual disk from a magazine into the virtual magazine
- Some user (e.g. you) makes an ISO image from a disk manually (the young folks from the city call this process “ripping”) and copies it into the folder representing the virtual magazine
In the first case, the Resource Manager knows exactly which ISO image it has created and updates the virtual magazine information accordingly. This does not require fresh indexing (”rescanning”) of the virtual magazine. In the section Volume providers you will find a thorough discussion on how to install and use volume providers — the software that makes automated rescanning possible. If you just want to use the Resource Manager over your webbrowser, you can safely ignore this section.
